Exchanges & Returns
We at Tribe Tropical really want you to love your purchases! If something isn’t quite right, you’re welcome to return your item as long as the following conditions are met:
Return Conditions:
- Items must be in brand-new condition, with all tags and hygiene stickers attached.
- Items must not be used, damaged, or washed.
- Returns for refunds* must be posted within 30 days of receiving your order.
Return Options:
- Store credit (for the full value paid for your returned item)

Additional Notes:
- Items returned after 30 days (e.g. for gifts) will qualify for store credit/ exchange only. We allow up to 60 days for exchanges—perfect for early holiday shopping!
- *Sale items with 25%+ discount, and/or items purchased during Black Friday are eligible for exchange or store credit only, not refunds.
Return Shipping:
Kindly note that we do not cover return shipping costs. Please keep your tracking receipt, as we can’t assume responsibility for items lost in transit.
How to Return Your Item
- Complete returns form: Click the "Start Return" button below to access our returns form. (Or 'Black Friday' form if you ordered between 19 Nov - 3 Dec)
- Post your item: Re-use our original compostable satchel (or another eco-friendly option), and lodge your return at your local post office. Please keep your receipt.
- Processing time: Allow up to 5 business days after we receive your item, for a refund* or credit note.
Exchanges
- Please send your item back to us; once received, we’ll issue a store credit so you can reorder online. We do not offer direct exchanges / swaps.
- Alternatively, to save time, place a new order for the size you need and return the unwanted item for a refund. (admin fees waived in this case) - kindly note your new order number on the returns form.
Refunds
- *Refunds (minus a 10% administration/handling fee) are available for full-price and lightly discounted items (up to 20% off).
- Sale items (25%+ discount and/or for orders placed over Black Friday promo period) qualify for store credit or exchange only, even if desired size is unavailable at time of return. Please consider this condition carefully when purchasing sale items.
- Any complimentary gifts received with a purchase must be returned along with the original item, or the full value of the gift will be deducted from any applicable refund.

Once we do a quality review of the returned item(s) we will endeavour to process your request (refund or exchange) - please allow up to 5 business days for processing.
Go green with your return & save waste!
Any recycled packaging is fine for return to us - if possible please don't purchase plastic satchels, to help save waste! Our green satchels are compostable, Australia Post's plastic satchels are not sadly.
Faulty Items
We take great care to ensure quality. If you receive a faulty item, please contact us within 14 days with details and photos. Once assessed, we’ll be in touch to advise on the next steps.
The following are not deemed as 'faulty':

- Fabric pilling: Caused by friction against rough surfaces such as pool edges, rocks, or Velcro. To prolong fabric life, avoid contact with abrasive materials. Silky swimsuit fabric can be prone to damage so please take care.
- Damaged plastic 'teeth' on zips: Zips are a high-contact part of a swimsuit, and their durability can be affected by factors such as sizing / fit, wear and tear, frequency of use, and handling. Missing or broken teeth, as well as derailing of a zip, often result from overextension—this can occur if a suit is too small or if excessive force is applied when zipping up or down. As such, zip breakages are not covered under our faulty policy.
- Broken stitching: Usually caused by over-stretching the fabric beyond its natural elasticity. Ensure the correct size is worn to prevent strain on seams.
- Trapped sand: Sand can become lodged in fabric fibres, particularly in textured swimsuits. To remove, gently shake the swimsuit or rinse it thoroughly in fresh water.
- Mould or stains: Can develop if swimsuits are left damp or not dried properly. Always rinse swimwear after use and dry it in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
