SIZING
Our swimwear for babies, girls, boys and teens is true to size and corresponds to the age of the child, i.e. an average two year old will fit a size 2, and an average 12 year old will fit a size 12 and so on.
Our kids swimwear doesn’t tend to run small from our experience as parents. If however a child is taller than average or well-built then sizing-up would be recommended i.e. a tall 10 year old would be better off in a size 12 suit / top or shorts. We offer peace of mind exchanges and returns so if ever the size you chose wasn’t quite right then you’d be welcome to return it. Please see our returns policy info below.
Kindly note that we don’t offer sizes 5 or 7 in our range; sizing up to size 6 or 8, or down to size 4 or 6 is the norm and isn’t usually an issue.

CARE
To ensure longevity of your swimwear, please:
- Rinse immediately after use to clean out salt and chlorine.
- Ideally hand-wash as often as possible as this will ensure longevity of the fabric
(if machine-washing please use a garment bag, cold water & low spin cycle)
- Do not wring, rub, soak or bleach swimwear.
- Dry in the shade – never tumble dry.
- Do not leave rolled up wet or store when damp.
- Do not iron or dry clean.
- Take care when dressing as over-stretched zips risk disconnecting or the plastic teeth may break, as can happen with any zip.

I absolutely adore this swimsuit , but the snaps were a real problem . I’m not sure why a size two suit would need snaps as surely kids that age aren’t wearing nappies when they swim ? The snaps were really uncomfortable for my granddaughter . In the end I cut them out and stitched the seams back together - problem solved . She looks incredibly cute in the suit and it’s comfy now
I came across Tropical Tribe on Instagram and i was sceptical however their prints were just to good to keep scrolling!
When the suits arrived they were beautifully packaged and once i opened them up i was so happy the prints and colours were so vibrant i could wait to put them on my daughter! Since then it is the only swimmers i will put her in!
They are beautiful, bold, colourful and sun safe! When you have a toddler you know how hard getting sunscreen on and knowing her arms are covered just makes it all that little bit easier!
From the day the suits arrived i decided that these would be the only swimsuit my daughter wears i loved them so much i got my self one!

This is the most adorable suit ever! Gorgeous print, perfect fit and the nappy clips are the best for swim lessons, love it!! Adorable with matching hat too.
My kids wore these swimmers for over 2 years. Not one issue with them, they still have a good year or two in them as well so last 3-4 years. We've had no fade or stretch, no pulling or pilling. Have handed down to friends children as my children outgrew them. Love them so much.

Growing up I used to dread beach days!
As a red-head with fair skin, growing up in the tropics, I either had to risk being teased by other kids for covering up in a daggy old t-shirt, or end the day sunburnt & in pain.
Having since suffered with countless skin cancer treatments (and further to the loss of my grandfather due to melanoma), I understand the importance of sun protection - I started Tribe Tropical with a desire to protect my family and yours in beautiful, high-quality sun-protective swimwear that people would feel good in & enjoy wearing.
