Inspired by the lush beauty and magical twilight of the Daintree Rainforest, our Daintree Dusk girls' swim and active shorts combine elegance, comfort, and protection.
Designed with extra coverage in mind, these shorts are fully lined front & back and feature an adjustable waist tie for a secure and comfortable fit.
Crafted from premium, anti-fade polyester fabric, these shorts use a thicker 230 GSM/m² material (compared to the standard 180–200 GSM/m²) for enhanced UV protection, durability, and colour retention.
Whether it’s swimming, gymnastics, or outdoor adventures, they’re versatile enough to pair beautifully with any of our rash tops or over a matching one-piece swimsuit.
Equally stylish as casual wear, they can be teamed with a simple tee for a day at the park or an afternoon of active play. Complete the look with a matching Daintree Dusk swimsuit & hat for the ultimate sun-safe outfit!

Our “Daintree Dusk” Collection is inspired by the enchanting hues of Australia’s tropical Daintree Rainforest as day fades to night. Silhouettes of lush foliage intertwine with delicate blossoms in tones of coral, sunset pink, and deep rainforest green, capturing the mysterious beauty of a tropical dusk. Features native Cairns Birdwing Butterflies.
This exclusive print was hand-drawn in Brisbane by artist Stacey Bigg of Kalaii Creations, created exclusively for Tribe Tropical. Design concept by Tribe Tropical Founder Emily Gradon.

SIZING
Feedback from other parents is that these shorts run: generally true to size
Our swimwear for babies, girls, boys and teens is true to size and corresponds to the age of the child, i.e. an average two year old will fit a size 2, and an average 12 year old will fit a size 12 and so on.
Our kids swimwear doesn’t tend to run small from our experience as parents. If however a child is taller than average or has a solid build then sizing-up would be recommended i.e. a tall 10 year old would be better off in a size 12 suit / top or shorts. We offer peace of mind exchanges and returns so if ever the size you chose wasn’t quite right then you’d be welcome to return it. Please see our returns policy info below.
Kindly note that we don’t offer sizes 5 or 7 in our range; sizing up to size 6 or 8, or down to size 4 or 6 is the norm and isn’t usually an issue.

Permitted within 30 days of payment date. Must be unused/unworn with all tags and hygiene stickers still attached. Sale items of more than 25% are eligible for store credit.
Refunds are processed less a 10% admin/restock fee.

CARE
To ensure longevity of your swimwear, please:
- Rinse immediately after use to clean out salt and chlorine.
- Ideally hand-wash as often as possible as this will ensure longevity of the fabric
(if machine-washing please use a garment bag, cold water & low spin cycle)
- Do not wring, rub, soak or bleach swimwear.
- Dry in the shade – never tumble dry.
- Do not leave rolled up wet or store when damp.
- Do not iron or dry clean.
- Take care when dressing as over-stretched zips risk disconnecting or the plastic teeth may break, as can happen with any zip.
My kids wore these swimmers for over 2 years. Not one issue with them, they still have a good year or two in them as well so last 3-4 years. We've had no fade or stretch, no pulling or pilling. Have handed down to friends children as my children outgrew them. Love them so much.
I am really impressed with the level of support the ladies swimsuit provides, even for a larger cup size, which is so hard to find.

Hi! I’m Emily, mother of 3 little girls and founder of Tribe Tropical.
Growing up I used to dread beach days!
As a red-head with fair skin, growing up in the tropics, I either had to risk being teased by other kids for covering up in a daggy old t-shirt, or end the day sunburnt & in pain.
Having since suffered with countless skin cancer treatments (and further to the loss of my grandfather due to melanoma), I understand the importance of sun protection - I started Tribe Tropical with a desire to protect my family and yours in beautiful, high-quality sun-protective swimwear that people would feel good in & enjoy wearing.
